The Best Adventures In Nepal

Nepal may not be the biggest country in the world but don’t let that fool you into thinking there’s not much to do here, there are tons of adventures to be had in this magical country. It is blesses with some stunning mountain ranges, the best trekking in the world, jungles, ancient cities and religious sites. I learnt all about the place when I was volunteering in Nepal, it was so cool to volunteer and then check out some heart stopping adventures.

The best thing is that you don’t have to spend an arm and a leg when you’re in Nepal, it’s a great place for budget travellers whilst at the same time offering ultimate luxury for those that want to splash out. If you love adventure then this is the best playground in the world for you, if you didn’t know all about the awesome adrenaline pumping things to do – here’s a list of our faves.

Trekking Everest

This may be a bit obvious but of course it has to go first! Nepal is world famous for being the best place for trekking. Each year they seem to be opening up new trails which means you can keep coming back for a new experience. For a good challenge you should try out a trek to the Everest base camp, it’ll take you 12 days over and up some pretty tough terrain. This is not something for beginners because conquering the highest peak in the world is one of the toughest challenges you will ever encounter – although sitting at the top of the world is a very special feeling indeed.

Bungee Jumping

Doing a bungee jump anywhere in the world is an exhilarating experience, but doing with a mind blowing view makes it even better. Nepal has long been known as one of the best places in the world to do a jump. My first jump was in Macau which was awesome but I had a view of a concrete city. Compare that to being over 100 meters above Bhote Koshi river, see the wild rapids below you before you jump is enough to get anyone’s adrenaline pumping.

Parahawking

This is not an adventure everyone has tried yet but you should all keep it on your radar. This is basically paragliding with hawks – yes that’s right, you’ll be paragliding with those birds of prey. You follow them as they fly through the mountains, so you get an idea of what they see. The best part is that you have to reward them every now and them by feeding them during the flight – it’s a very special experience indeed.

Have you tried any of these adventures or are there other must do adventures in Nepal? If so, please let us all know about it by sharing your experiences and tips in the comment section below. Also, if you’ve been volunteering in Nepal like I have I’d love to hear all your tales – thanks for sharing people!
